By visiting our website and placing an order, you accept and agree to the content of these Terms and Conditions. Our Terms and Conditions do not affect your statutory rights.

Your Rights

Superstar Components Ltd is a UK based company and complies with all UK consumer law including the Consumer Contracts Regulations. This means that shopping with Superstar Components Ltd is safe.

Consumer Contracts Regulations give you the right to contact us and cancel an order to return any goods that may already have been dispatched, (see Returns) up to 14 days from receipt.

Custom built items such as custom wheelsets are not returnable for a refund as they are built to individual specifications and component parts cannot be returned to stock in an "as new and resalable condition". In the case of custom specified products statutory rights do not allow returns under the terms of the Consumer Contracts Regulations.

If you have changed your mind:

Items can be returned for exchange or refund within 14 days of receiving the item, however you must notify us within 14 days of receipt of your order if you intend to return anything. They must be returned in their original packaging, unused and in a re-saleable condition. You are responsible for the costs of returning the item to us.

 

NOTE: Custom items such as custom specified wheels are not returnable for a refund if you change your mind.

If the part has a fault:

If you encounter a problem with any of our products,we can sometimes solve it without the need for a return. Please email us at contact@superstarcomponents.com  and we will try our best to resolve it. Photos or a short video of the issue can also be useful.

Please be honest, we want to help you but we need all the facts to fully understand your problem and solve it.

You must include a fully completed returns form Click here to download a returns form. Items received without returns forms, or with incomplete returns forms may be refused and will lead to a delay in processing.

All items MUST be returned first to be eligible for refund, exchange or warranty replacement without exception. We will refund your postage costs where appropriate. PLEASE NOTE: We will only refund up to a maximum of £6.50. If you wish to insure the item or guarantee delivery, this is at the customer's cost.

Please read the Postage Refund Guidelines carefully and include all required details and receipts on your returns form. We cannot process postage refunds retrospectively.

Please ensure your item is safely packaged, it is your responsibility until it arrives at our premises.

Items bought within a promotion will be refunded at the promotional value. If this invalidates the terms of the promotion (eg minimum purchase requirement) may result in full amounts being chargeable for the remaining items calculated as per the terms of the promotion.

Postage Refund Guidelines

You can apply for a return postage refund in the following situations:

The item is faulty
The item is incorrect and doesn't match the order placed
The item is damaged on arrival

Postage refunds are not possible for returns without fault.

Postage for returns must be paid for by the customer initially, you can claim for a refund by requesting this on the returns form accompanying your item. You must evidence the postage cost on your returns form to be eligible for a refund, royal mail postage stamps on the package will suffice or a receipt from a courier. We will refund up to a maximum of £6.50, please contact us if you are quoted more than this and we will recommend a delivery provider. We are not liable for any goods damaged or lost in transit.  We recommend you use recorded delivery and gain proof of postage to cover you in case of loss.

Warranty

All Superstar Components parts come with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty, this does not affect your statutory rights and is in addition to them. The warranty and other associated services only apply to the original owner and claims under warranty require proof of purchase (your order number) to be valid. Warranties start from the date of purchase, and will expire 2 years after this date even if parts are replaced within this time. Warranty does not apply to wear and tear parts (for example bearings), or cosmetic damage, unless the item is faulty from new. Component parts manufactured by other brands are covered under their own manufacturer's warranty. We cannot accept 3rd party costs or workmanship under warranty claims, and the intervention of a 3rd party may void your warranty. Incurred costs or labour charges are not covered by warranty. Additional service schemes such as our 45 day brake pad trial, free truing service and crash replacement scheme are in addition to the standard 2 year warranty and only valid for the original owner.

When returning faulty goods you must use the returns form which you can find here, and fill out all details requested, including details of set up and use. Items received without returns forms, or with incomplete returns forms may be refused. On receipt we process all items in date order and aim to respond to each warranty query within 5 working days.

Parts which are returned for warranty inspection and are deemed not eligible will be quoted for service/repair/replacement wherever possible. If you do not wish to pay for a repair, service or replacement, you will need to arrange for collection of the item from our premises at your cost. Items which are not collected 3 months from the date of receipt will be disposed of.

If your item is nearing the end of its warranty period and a repair/replacement is not possible we reserve the right to offer an alternative of equal or greater value (colour/specification may vary) or a partial refund proportional to the remaining life of the product.

Superstar Components Ltd cannot take any liability for 3rd party costs, expenses, damages or consequential damages. This includes, but is not limited to, damage to property, lost income, profits, economic or commercial losses and third parties claims. Our warranty and liability applies only to the parts and cost of the supplied goods exclusively to the original owner. This warranty does not affect your statutory rights.

Fair Wear and Tear

Superstar Components' high performance bicycle parts are designed to  be fit for purpose for their intended use. This does not mean they are indestructible or require no maintenance during their warranty period, and items such as bearings are subject to natural wear and tear which will not be covered by warranty. Items which are abused, neglected or crashed are not eligible for warranty repair or replacement. Frequent causes of failures include pressure washing, harsh cleaners and poor installation which are easily noted on inspection and will not be covered by warranty.

We offer guidelines on the intended use for each product for the average rider (weight 85kg). Use outside of these guidelines may lead to rapid wear or failure of the product which will not be covered under our warranty. We recommend heavier or more aggressive riders select more durable items than their intended riding style.

 

Free Truing T&Cs:

If you require wheel truing, just return them to us and we will inspect your wheels, true them and return them back to you via UPS on a next day service.(UK mainland only, rest of world postage charge applies). 

We will inspect your wheels, and if we are not able to true the wheel to a satisfactory or safe standard we will notify you by email. Any additional work will not be undertaken without the prior consent of the customer and at an agreed price in advance. Any wheels which fall under this criteria will be eligible for our Crash Rebuild Scheme (see separate text) 

It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that their wheels are packed and returned to us in a safe condition. All of our wheelsets are shipped from new in a specially designed transit carton which is ideal for returning your wheels in. Conversely, we will ensure that we pack your wheels in the same manner when we return them to you. If you wish to have your wheels returned back to you in one of our transit cartons, these are available on request at a cost of £10.00GBP. Please make this request on your returns form and Customer Service will contact you with instructions regarding making payment for this. 

This offer is exclusive to the original owner for the entire period that they own the wheels and is not transferable.

Wheels must be returned clean (a £30 cleaning fee will be chargeable if not, for health and safety of our staff), have the tyres and tubes removed along with your cassette and disc rotors. Superstar Components Ltd cannot be held responsible for these or any other non original items while we are in possession of your wheels.

If you are running your wheels tubeless and have tape fitted, it must be removed in order for us to true your wheels. Regrettably, tubeless tape will not be replaced under this scheme 

Lead time is typically 5 days upon receipt of your wheels, but can be longer during busy periods. 

This service is subject to a fair use policy.

 

Crash Rebuild T&Cs:

If you are unfortunate enough to damage your wheels to a point where it cannot be re-trued or has impact damage, or they simply wear out, just return your wheel to us via your preferred courier and purchase your preferred rim as detailed in the option on our website:

We will rebuild them with free spokes and nipples at our cost and return them back to you via UPS on a next day service.(UK mainland only, rest of world postage charge applies). 

Discounted, clearance rims and promotional codes are not eligible under this scheme. 

Spoke and nipple upgrades may be considered at an agreed price and at our discretion subject to availability. 

Hubs must be in full working condition. 

Any additional work (such as bearing services) will not be undertaken without the prior consent of the customer and at an agreed price. 

All crash rebuilds must be paid for in full prior to the work being done. 

This scheme only applies to rims we have available in stock at time of order. Unfortunately, if your preferred rim is unavailable or discontinued, you will need to choose a different suitable model from our stock with the correct hole pattern.

We are unable to build wheels onto third party rims or hubs because we cannot guarantee the build quality or safety of any items not supplied by ourselves.

If you change your mind and do not wish to go ahead with a service, you must arrange collection from our premises at your expense within 3 months or the product will be subject to storage charges and/or disposal.

This service is subject to a fair use policy.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a crash rebuild service for wheels which have been damaged in use and to prevent abuse of this scheme, your original rims and spokes will not be returned.

  

Pricing

Prices include VAT (Value Added Tax) at the standard UK rate of 20%. VAT does not apply to orders that are to be shipped outside the E.U. or to Tax Free areas such as the Channel Islands. These areas will be priced and billed with VAT deducted automatically during the checkout process.

If you select a delivery country outside the E.U., prices will be displayed VAT free, for example, an item which costs 120.00 GBP will be shown and billed as 100.00 GBP when it is VAT free.

While we do our best to ensure prices are up to date and correct, errors may occur and in this case you will be contacted before your order is shipped. The contract of sale is formed once we accept your order offer and physically ship the items. Up until this point we may reject your order and return any payment made.

Depending on stock levels we reserve the right to change our prices and special offers. Published materials will be correct at the time of publishing, but new items and new batches of existing products may vary in price.

Payment

Superstar Components Ltd accept most major credit and debit cards for online orders via Sagepay our secure card payment processor.

Orders will be charged in full at the time of order, this will include the cost of any out of stock items. If there is a stock issue or other problem, you will be contacted and your subsequent request for a refund or alternative will be processed as soon as possible.

Due to varying Exchange Rates all payments made to Superstar Components Ltd must be in UK Pounds (£) Sterling. Any costs involved if this is not adhered to will be billed before the goods are released. Any refunds will be sent in GBP, regardless of the exchange rates at the time.

Sagepay is simple, quick and secure methods for online payments. Superstar Components Ltd do not deal with your credit card information and it is transferred using an SSL encryption through Sagepay's webserver.

Credit Card Security

We take online security extremely seriously and have taken several steps to ensure that your payment information is processed confidentially and accurately. All online card data is handled by 3rd party card processing companies and not Superstar Components Ltd.

Sagepay offers the use of secure servers where information is protected by Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), the industry standard encryption technology. SSL works with all major browsers. This encryption makes it virtually impossible for unauthorised parties to read any information that you send to our payment providers. When your order is processed your encrypted credit card number is removed from the web server.

It is impossible for someone to obtain your credit card number from Superstar Components Ltd so you can order with confidence!

Privacy Policy

Superstar Components Ltd are committed to protecting your privacy. When you make an online order, we need to know your name, email address, credit card billing address, delivery address, and associated details. This allows us to process and fulfil your orders and to notify you about your order status. We will also require a telephone number in case we need to contact you, and for international orders this number may be given to our couriers in order to help with the delivery of your goods. You have trusted us by giving us these details and Superstar Components Ltd promise not to use these details for any other reason other than processing your order or informing you about the products and services of Superstar Components Ltd. We will not pass any of your details on to third parties for profit or otherwise.

By providing the information onsite you are giving clear consent under GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations - EU Law) for use and storage of the data you provide. You can at any time edit or remove this data in your account. If you wish to remove data and be "forgotten" you can do this in your account by erasing the data. The functionality of the site is not possible without this data, so if you do not agree with these terms you cannot setup an account or purchase goods.

When you set up your account you can opt-in to receive emails regarding the products and services of Superstar Components Ltd. Ordering

When placing an order you guarantee that all the information given to Superstar Components Ltd is accurate and complete. You will receive an acknowledgement email confirming receipt of your order and an Order ID: this email will only be an acknowledgement and will not constitute acceptance of your order.

By placing an order, you make an offer to us to purchase the products you have selected. We may or may not accept your offer at our discretion. If we cannot accept your order we will contact you by email and shall refund any amount already transfered to us. We will always make every effort to supply you with the products listed in your order confirmation.

We cannot accept liability for any losses due to inaccurate information confirmed at the time of order.

Stock Levels  

Superstar Components Ltd updates the availability of the entire stock list constantly. Items that are 'Out Of Stock' will be displayed as such. In the rare event of a problem with availability of a product marked 'In Stock', we will contact you. You may then choose to cancel the order, substitute the item for another colour or style, or wait until the item becomes available.

Out of Stock Orders

There are times when items become temporarily 'Out Of Stock', and these items are marked as such in the site. If you order an 'Out Of Stock' product, we will send out the order to you as soon as the product becomes available again. If we cannot source the item we will contact you to inform you. Note by confirming your order in checkout you have authorised your card to be charged, if you wish to have a refund at any time you can contact us to request this.

Copyright and ownership of Information

Superstar Components Ltd creates the majority of the pictures and descriptions for the website. This information is copyright of Superstar Components Ltd and may not be used by any other party without express permission of Superstar Components Ltd. The Superstar Components Ltd website is provided for use only for viewing by an end user. Taking of any content or prices by automated processes, such as spidering, will be deemed as a breach of copyright and is expressly forbidden except where specifically agreed with Superstar Components Ltd or where Superstar Components Ltd had expressly requested the process.

All pictures, material, code, intellectual property and descriptions are the property of Superstar Components Ltd. They may not be copied or used without the express permission of these parties.

Accuracy of Information

We put a lot of time and effort into describing and photographing the products we sell using manufacturer's websites, catalogues, our own photography studio and our own descriptions of the products. Although we aim that every picture and description is 100% accurate, mistakes do occur so let us know if you see or read something that isn't correct. If you have purchased something based on a picture or description on the website which turns out to be incorrect when you are inspecting your new goods, we will be happy to replace or refund the product if returned in an "as new and resalable condition" within the returns period.

Accuracy of colours and colour matching

Due to sourcing from many suppliers and material and manufacturing variations we cannot guarantee a colour match between any of our products. If you are not happy with the colour or finish of anything you can return it under your statutory rights. We cannot accept colour variation as a reason for rejection of custom assembled products.

Anodised aluminium colours will vary depending on several factors including batch, alloy, production process, surface finish and manufacturer. For example a handlebar made from drawn 7075 anodised using the same anodising code and process as a 3D forged stem made of 6061 alloy will produce a different colour and this is impossible to avoid.

Paint finish and colour cannot be matched to anodised colours as they are not like for like.

If we decide to change our Terms and Conditions, we will post changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we disclose it.

Site Usage

Superstar Components Ltd disclaims damages of any kind, compensatory, direct, indirect or consequential damages, loss of data, income or profit, loss of or damage to property and claims of third parties implied or otherwise relating to use of this site.

Environmental Policy

Superstar Components Ltd take environmental responsibility very seriously. All of our waste is pre-sorted to remove all recyclable materials before disposal to reduce our landfill. To reduce waste we package our deliveries in the minimum viable packaging required to get the product to you safely and the majority of our packaging is recyclable in most locations.

Our manufacturing department recycles all waste swarf through specialist recycling partners who feed it directly back to smelters who turn it back into usable metal. We aim to retrieve coolant and reduce waste to minimise our environmental impact. By moving portions of our manufacturing in house we save large amounts of shipping around the world reducing our CO2 output. Assembling wheels in the UK reduces the amount of containers shipped by 8 times compared with the industry norm.

By working with local companies we reduce the road miles our suppliers have to cover. Our wheelboxes are manufactured just down the road from our warehouse, rather than the other end of the country.

We strive to constantly reduce our energy use, and we encourage our staff to ride to work which the majority do as we are all bikers!
