Had these a while now and still work just great giving a clean cut every time with cables and outers -

These are handy cutters but the reason they are cheap is that they are small and not geared. This means that you have to have to supply a large of force to cut anything reasonably challenging like gear cable or hydraulic hose. They are definitely better than pliers, and a useful addition to the tool box but their small size (each handle is about 3in long/8cm) is a considerable disadvantage. -

Not as good quality as most other products from Superstar, but they cut gear inner and outer fine, also brake inner, but haven't tried any brake outer yet. Saves alot when you consider Shimano cutters are ̏50 and Park Tool ̏25 -

i have had lots of gear from superstar so i had high hopes for the cable cutters, they cut inner cable ok but they will not cut outer cable , grips are very harsh on hands, save your money and bye a set of PARK tool cutters (sorry superstar)
