Finally an ISIS BB which lasts, No little cartridge bearings here, we use IRB!

"why do old Shimano Square taper BBs last so long?"
Its because they use Integrated Bearing Races (IRB) allowing big ball bearings and simple but effective seals.

How they designed ISIS:
1. Lets make the axel nice and fat so its stiff and indestructable (Tick, that works)
2. We are limited by the BB shell for size so the bearings must be small (Error!)
3. Marketing guys say we need to use Cartridge bearings as they are "better" (Bad Choice)
4. They break.....

Now Superstar bring Integrated Race Bearings, this means the bearings run in races machined in the axel and the BB cartridge shell. Now cartridge bearings use press in races and reduce the size of the bearings. Superstar IRB ISIS BB have 100% bigger ball bearings, for strength and long life. Big wiper seals deep in the BB keep the dirt at bay too.

Basically they rock, and they do not cost silly money.
